JUNIOR VARSITY COACH
Brandon Detlefsen (5th season)
Brandon Detlefsen is in his 5th season as an assistant coach for the Bison. Detlefsen brings 12 years of coaching experience to the program, including a two-year stint as head girls basketball coach at Leigh High School. Under his direction, the Panthers had a 20-23 mark from 2005-2007, with a 14-8 campaign in 2005-2006. During his tenure as head coach, he was selected to coach in the Columbus Telegram All-Star game.
Before becoming head coach at Leigh, he was the assistant girls coach for one season in 2004-2005, which made the state tournament. Prior coming to Central City, Detlefsen served as an assistant girls coach for five seasons (2008-2012) at Cedar Rapids/Cedar Valley High School. Along with his basketball duties, he also coached middle school football, basketball, and track for the Mavericks. Detlefsen has also coached softball and legion baseball, serving as Boone Central's head coach in softball from 2007-2008 and legion baseball coach in his hometown of Neligh for four seasons. A graduate of Neligh-Oakdale High School, Detlefsen was a three-sport athlete in football, basketball and track. He was honorable mention all-state as a senior, and in legion baseball was a three-time Northeast Nebraska All-Star team selection as a pitcher. He attended Wayne State College and was a member of the Wildcat baseball team as a freshman. Detlefsen graduated with a degree in Business Education in 2004 and obtained his Master's in Education with an Information Technology Endorsement from Wayne State in 2008. Detlefsen is currently the Technology Director for Central City Public Schools. |
